Got it covered - Meaningful Art
Karen Beckett, ArtistFrom existing and new buildings to shipping containers to bus exteriors, if it stands still long enough it is likely to become another piece of Meaningful Art's gallery of work.

An environmental artist with a quarter of a decade of work history spanning the mediums of murals, watercolours to oils, stain glass art, pottery sculpture, wearable arts and tapestry wallhangings, Karen Beckett is well recognised in the Waikato for her vivid works.

Murals express statements, colour and imagination depicting life experiences, working and recreational environments, all coated in her favourite paint, Resene Lumbersider satin acrylic.

A famous piece is the Living Tapestry, a 9 metre by 3 metre work representing the unit of all cultures made from donated blankets, promoting warmth and security. Names are recognised in the work through different strands of wool, with the aim to have one million visitors recognised.

She has a refreshing outlook on her work - unless a young child might drop and break a particularly precious piece of pottery or glassware, exhibits are marked 'please touch', allowing visitors to get a hands on appreciation for the work.

Visible artwork with a deep meaning - a picture tells a thousand words, a Meaningful Art piece tells the whole story.
