Trendy transformation - Fraser's Bar and Grill
The opening of Fraser's Bar and Grill on Lake Wakatipu Steamer Wharf has added to the buzzy night life in Queenstown.

This conversion of five retail spaces into a bar, dining area and small intimate theatre features an exciting combination of colours, Central Otago materials and shapes. Queenstown architect David Stringer has used a number of innovative features including disused sluice pipes from the Arrowtown's irrigation plant as a facing to the bar, and the original jib lifting boom from the Earnslaw has been suspended above the bar. The walls feature steel panels, coach-screwed onto painted surfaces and the bar has a burnished copper top.

Dramatic use of Resene colours Resene Crab Apple and Resene Zeus has created a sense of warmth and intrigue as has the nature of the interior paint finishes.

The Resene paint system used on the walls to achieve the desired textured effect was Resene Sandtex while Zylone 20 was used on the ceiling, Uracryl 402 Satin was used on the red beech floor boards, the steelwork on the walls and the copper bar top.
