In character - Waimauku Village shopping centre

Renowned for outdoor life, where fruit orchards and market gardens meet farming and wild coastal beaches, Waimauku is a growing community on the west coast scenic route 40 minutes from Auckland CBD. The Kumeu-Huapai-Waimauku area is targeted for growth as a satellite community with population expected to swell to 12,000 from the current 5,600 in the next few years.

The new Waimauku Village shopping centre is positioned on a triangular site with dual frontages, one on State Highway 16 and one on Factory Road. It forms the centre of the existing Waimauku community offering 14 retail spaces, three office units, a supermarket and extensive parking.

The exterior is comprised of durable tilt slab concrete, finished in Resene Concrete Primer and two coats of Resene Lumbersider waterborne satin in hues of Resene Schooner (dusty brown) and Resene Napa (grey beige).

The architectural design and layout deliberately has the feel and atmosphere of a village in keeping with the existing character of the community. Local residents and Waimauku Vision were closely consulted during the design process to ensure the new development would meet community needs and wants and become a natural part of everyday community life.
