Resene hand and power tool training courses
 This course is aimed at qualified painters who wish to refine their knowledge and practical skills on the preparation and application of protective paint coatings successfully to metals.

The course is both theoretical and practical on the following subjects:

  • Corrosion process and types of corrosion commonly encountered
  • Design issues
  • Corrosion protection options
  • The environment
  • How coatings work
  • Preparation using hand and power tools to SSPC-SP2, SSPC-SP3 and SSPC-SP11
  • Steel, Zinc coatings, welds, sharp edges, crevices
  • Conditions for painting
  • Application, mixing and thinning
  • Paint defects

Upon successful completion the tradesperson shall be competent in all subjects covered on a practical level and shall receive a Certificate which is registered directly to the tradesperson.
